Thierry Auperin, PhD, is Vice President, Medical Communications and Training, Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Cambridge MA. He joined Alnylam Pharmaceuticals in 2019 as Vice President, Medical Communications and Training. In this role, Thierry oversees the building of capabilities and all aspects of Medical Communications & Publications, Congress strategy, Medical Information, Medical Training, and Medical Review Boards. With more than fifteen years of pharmaceutical industry experience in both pre-commercial and commercial companies, Thierry has a wealth of medical and operational expertise, having built and led successful teams. Starting as an MSL, he held various leadership positions within Medical Affairs, including US and global roles in Medical Research and data generation, Scientific and Medical Communications and Publications, as well as building Medical Affairs organizations and capabilities. Over the years, Thierry has worked in several companies, from larger pharmaceutical companies such as Sanofi Genzyme, Abbott Laboratories, to small pre-IPO company, with most of his career within small to mid-sized biotech at Vertex, Biogen, Bioverativ, and now Alnylam. Thierry studied Marine Biology and Biochemistry as an undergrad and has a PhD in Biophysics and Pharmacology from the University of Montpellier (France) in partnership with Harvard Medical School (Boston, MA).
